It’s one of the rare instances when the lack of innovation is considered a plus. The fact that developers chose not to mess with the original recipe was a winning point. Worms Reloaded is still one of the bestĮven if we now have much newer versions of Worms out in the wild, the Reloaded edition is still one of the most played and beloved versions. Sure, we had split screen games long before worms, but playing something in which you have to wait your turn was unimaginable. It’s one of the first games that taught users the power of games being played on the same computer, and there aren’t many that can do that. Worms Reloaded is defined as a turn-based strategy, but when we say Worms anyone knows what we’re talking about. For that reason alone, Worms Reloaded is using the same recipe, for the most part.
It’s difficult to come with something better than Armageddon, which was one of the games that defined an entire generation.
The previous game in this franchise, Worms Armageddon, was launched more than a decade ago, and Worms Reloaded was the sequel. Worms Reloaded is one of the best games in the Worms franchise, and it represent a genre of games that doesn’t really exist anymore.
